Baldwin's schedule

Am I the only one looking at Baldwin's schedule and wondering what the heck is going on. Since we all know that virtually nobody has heard of him and the CP normally pulls in 100,000 votes would it not behoove Chuck to get out there and start meeting some people. Look at the July schedule and the number of days he had nothing listed. The key here are the Ron Paul folks and Chuck should be traveling the country meeting with these groups (there are hundreds of them) and spreading the word. EVERY DAY there should be a meeting with a Ron Paul group, EVERY DAY there should be a media appearance or radio show listed. This is the best chance the CP has ever had to make an impact and it seems to be we are blowing it. Bob Barr is pulling in between 5 - 10% in polls and sucking the life out of Baldwin's campaign. If he is not committed to campaigning 24/7 then why the heck should I be knocking on doors in my neighborhood and hanging out at the local Republican Club converting people. I'M CONCERNED, A LITTLE ANGRY AND CONTEMPLATING A SWITCH TO THE LP. Help me out with an explanation of why the Baldwin schedule is so light.

RE: Baldwin's schedule

I am not involved in any way with the campaign but I would have to guess that Rev. Baldwin's schedule is tied to fundraising. You really can't do a lot if you have little money to go anywhere. I suspect that is why there is an urgent message from campaign headquarters regarding contributions over the next 48 hours.

RE: Baldwin's schedule

If the grassroots(that's you and me) were doing a better job of getting Chucks name out there then maybe more people would be donating and Chuck would be going more places. Chuck got a fair amount of coverage out in the west coast, both radio and newspaper.

RevolutionBroadcasting.com is going to be giving Chuck an hour radio show each week, why not tell your friends to listen in. Put up links to the wood TV interview found in the media appearances section of this forum. A friend of mine who I showed that to just said to me last night that he had been thinking about what Chuck said about personal property tax for the last couple of days. Its a powerful interview.

Why not set up a table at your local fairs and get the word out about Chuck and the Constitution Party. Check the Missouri forum and see how many fairs the CPMO will be attending, with more being added all the time. Every state party should be doing the same thing.

The bottom line is that we need to be where Chuck isn't. Its our country too and we can't expect Chuck to do all the work.

Bob Barr is getting attention basically because he is a Republican, regardless of what party he is in now. While Bob Barr may be getting some media coverage, he does not inspire people. Chuck Baldwin inspires people when he talks, he makes a connection with people that Barr is not capable of. Once he starts getting the coverage he deserves, you will see the momentum shift in his direction.

Right on, Ray! Well said. Chuck clearly inspired people in California. And I am talking about people who had never heard of him before.

RE: Baldwin's schedule

I don't feel comfortable that Revolutionbroadcasting is really pulling for Baldwin. Look at the poll they have on their website. Paul is still getting over 2,000 votes as a write in while Baldwin has little more than 900 votes. That seems like an unfair poll to me. Why are they offering Baldwin a spot on their broadcast? Just to get more Paul supporters to their site. Please the poster from revolutionbroadcasting explain what your motives are? Are you supporting Baldwin and asking the Paul supporters to back Baldwin? Please explain your motives.

His motive is freedom. They like Chuck and support his candidacy. I'm grateful for what ever exposure they give him.

RE: Baldwin's schedule

Here's my point in a nutshell. We are 3 months out from a general election. The right wing are not happy with their nominee. Ron Paul has ignited a firestorm among some on the right. We have the potential to make a real impact on the election. Our candidate has one scheduled event from July 20 - 31. Hardly a rigorous election campaign. It doesn't exactly give the impression that we are pulling out all the shots to win. Fine, I will talk to neighbors, I will go to State Fairs, I will knock on doors, I will stuff envelopes but is my candidate putting in the same effort ????? Running for president is a full time job. For 3 months it is all you should think about. ONE SCHEDULED EVENT IN 2 WEEKS ????????? Pardon me if I question the Constitution Party's committment and look elsewhere.

Maybe we should email Ron Paul and encourage him to endorse Chuck?

RE: Baldwin's schedule

My read of the Ron Paul situation is that he won't endorse anyone but will quietly encourage support of Bob Barr because Barr is more likely to get into the debates and highlight Ron Paul/Libertarian ideals. If Zogby is correct Barr is at 10% in NH and above 5% in most other states.

While I don't believe Ron Paul will endorse anyone until at least after the GOP convention (and probably not then, either), I have the opposite feeling. I believe he prefers Chuck Baldwin to Bob Barr but unless Chuck is on the ballot in 40 or more states (not just a certified write-in but ballot qualified) I don't think he stands a chance of getting a Paul endorsement.
