RE: Ballot Access Update

Is this thread monitored by field director or anyone else from the national HQ? I am very interested to know the status of petition drives in PA, MD, NH, CT and ME. In my opinion if the campaign fails to gain access in at least three of these states the Baldwin/Castle campaign is basically finished as a national player and the Ron Paul voters will quickly shift to Barr/Root. Ballot access should be the highest priority of the party and/or the campaign. If a ticket is not on the ballot it is not serious. The next few weeks are critical. I am beginning to believe the LP will gain ballot status in 49 states and DC and they have filed suit in OK which might give them all 50 states. The CP MUST have ballot status in at least 40 states and it is not looking very promising since AZ, GA, IN, NC, OK and TX are already lost. If 3 New England states are lost (CT, MD and ME) that leaves only 41 left. I doubt NY is realistic so there is the 40. If PA fails... game over. I doubt DC is realistic, either. Now is the time to step up! It won't matter in September when deadlines are past.

RE: Ballot Access Update

Are there any people on here from Virginia. I have checked the Virginia CP website, but have had no success in finding much info. about the petition. From Ballot Access I see that they have collected 6,000 of the 10,000 signatures required. My husband and I want very much to sign the petition but have no idea how to do it.

RE: Ballot Access Update

##############################################################
Very Important
Special Note:
##############################################################

In the next couple of weeks, deadlines for ballot access
petition drives, particularly in several eastern states, including Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maryland, and West Virginia, will be upon us. The Constitution Party
is working very hard in these and other states to make sure that Chuck Baldwin and Darrell Castle will be on the ballot to provide a real choice Americans all across the country.

There is still time for you to help in these key states, but time is running very short.

If you can help collect signatures in these or other states or if you know of someone who would be interested in doing so, please call the Constitution Party National Office in Lancaster, PA at 1-800-2-VETO-IRS or (717) 390-1993. Please leave a message with a return number and you will be contacted as soon as possible with information about how you can help in this most critical effort.

Please don't be in the
position of wishing, in
September or October,
that you had done more to help
get the Baldwin/Castle ticket on
the ballot in your state when you
had the opportunity to do so!

Please Act Now!!

Quote:
Williams said Libertarians have told him to expect their petitions on Aug. 1 and he expects that will also be when the Constitution Party submits its.

"We are close to what we need as far as signatures go," said Constitution Party spokeswoman Mary Starrett.

She noted the two major parties have made it difficult for others to get on the West Virginia ballot and the party had a petitioner harassed earlier.

"We are on target to get on the ballot in West Virginia," she said.

Baldwin, the Constitution Party candidate, has received a boost from Republican Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, Starrett said.

She said Baldwin has long supported Paul, who once ran for president as a Libertarian and was part of the Republican field this year.

"The Ron Paul people are coming over en masse," she said. "They are really bringing up the rear on this."

RE: Ballot Access Update

Ballot Access News has just reported the CP is now on the ballot in New Jersey despite turning in their petitions 3 days late. The state had put the wrong date on some forms and thought they had recalled them all. Unfortunately, the CP had the old forms. Luckily, the state did not play "hard ass" and recognized their mistake and allowed the petitions to be submitted late. Another state where voters can choose Chuck Baldwin!

RE: Ballot Access Update

What about Wisconsin? I hear nothing and only 2400 raw sigs would be needed for access to these ten electoral college votes and thousands of added total votes!

RE: Ballot Access Update

According to the CP national website at least 8 states and DC will be write-in only. OK does not permit write-in votes and it appears the petition to count write-in votes in NC is uncertain. That means all the remaining states with ongoing ballot drives must succeed to get Chuck Baldwin on the ballot in 40 states. It also means lawsuits must be successful in CA and PA or they will be write-in states. To keep checking for updates go to http://www.constitutionparty.org/ba_stats.php and also http://www.ballot-access.org
