Ballot Access Update

I had previously told you guys that we were expecting 40+ state ballot access.

This is still true--but now im being updated. We are expecting 42-44 state ballot access.

If you live in New York, Maryland, Conneticut, Pennsylvania, or West Virginia--PLEASE get to work immediately and help petition.

RE: Ballot Access Update

Deadlines have already passed in AZ, IN, NC and TX. There is no chance in OK (for ANY alternative candidates) and they DO NOT permit write-in votes. I believe it will take a lot of good fortune to get to 42 to 44 states with ballot access. It will take a good deal of money and organization as well. With 5 states already out of the mix it will be tough but not impossible.

It looks like write in status has been or should be obtained in those States. Unless I am reading it wrong.

All except OK of the states with deadlines which are passed. That is my understanding as well.

RE: Ballot Access Update

According to Ballot Access News the CP may have to give up trying to get on the ballot in CT, NH and ME due to limited resources. This would be a real shame. None of these states is terribly difficult and the deadlines are Aug 6 for CT and NH and Aug 15 for ME. If the Baldwin/Castle ticket is going to get MSM coverage it is really important not to miss getting on the ballot in states where access is not that difficult. Now is the time to contribute! Ballot access will be a major factor in determining the future success of the campaign.

NewFederalist,

Maine,West Virginia, PA, and NY are all tossups right now. NH and CT won't be on the ballot unless some money comes from nowhere.

Wow! This IS bad news. If WV fails that is a huge waste of time since B.A.N. reports in the July 1 issue they have collected 13,000 signatures already against a requirement of 15,118 and a deadline of August 1. PA would be a terrible embarrassment since the CP national HQ is located there. NY is not a surprise to me but NH only requires 3,000 valid signatures and ME only 4,000. If CT is a lost cause I would have to believe MD is as well. What a shame.

The Baldwin/Castle ticket is on the ballot under the American Independent Party label. There is a slim chance of a lawsuit to try to place Alan Keyes on instead but it does not appear to be much of a threat at this point according to Richard Winger of Ballot Access News.

Thanks, the election process confuses me and I want to be sure that I will be able to vote for him even tho I am registered as a Republican.
