RE: Exposure

Everyone needs to write letters to the editors of newspapers in their state informing them about Chuck Baldwin. You can find a good list on google.

RE: Exposure

OK folks. This is the way it is.

It has been 2 months since Chuck Baldwin was nominated by the Constitution Party. The only place I hear about him is on this forum. Nowhere else!!

We have been writing to newspapers, radio talk shows and anybody we think can bring Chuck into the spotlight. We have talked to friends and family and anybody who would listen. Some of you have printed up buttons, signs and bumper stickers.

My county chairman told me Chuck Baldwin only has until the end of July to get on the Pennsylvania ballot. This is going to take a lot of time, work and money, all of which I am willing to do.

However, I am not willing to waste my time, work and money unless Chuck gets on the radar soon!. He is knowledgeable about politics. He has/had a radio show himself. He knows how to get his name out there. He knows how to get media exposure. Why isn’t he doing it? I need to know this is worth fighting for.

I like being part of the Constitution Party and will work for its growth in the Pittsburgh Pennsylvania area for future elections. But, I am not going to waist my time for Chuck Baldwin unless he comes out of hiding.

If he has some secret plan to blitzkrieg the media at some point, I would like to know about it. Time is running out in Pennsylvania. “Writing him in” will never work because there will not be enough people informed or willing to do that.

Yes, I want to hear some of your responses, but I want to hear from Chuck Baldwin. I want to see and hear about him mentioned as a candidate. On the national level!! Otherwise I cannot waste my time, money and work for a candidate who has absolutely no chance of winning.

Chuck Baldwin, where are you?? Talk to us Chuck!!. Let us know you are out there!!

RE: Exposure

Just got this email today.

Quote:
Chuck Baldwin's for President National HQ will open this Tuesday June 24, 2008 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
5500 Division Street South
Grand Rapids, Michigan 49548-5723
.
Chuck Baldwin will be there and speak from 5pm to 7:30pm

Plus, I believe the big Kick off is going to be on July 1st. That's what was expressed in the conference call last month. They wanted to make sure all the pieces were in place first and then campaign full bore until November.

Impala- While I can appreciate your frustration at the lack of media attention for Chuck Baldwin (or Bob Barr or Ralph Nader or Cynthia McKinney for that matter) you said something else that concerned me. You said you did not want to waste your time if Pastor Baldwin did not have a chance to win the election. He does NOT have any realistic chance to win an Electoral College victory. However, that fact should not dissuade you from working hard for him and the CP. For alternative political parties the definition of winning is far different than for the two dominant political parties. Winning for the CP of PA would be getting on the ballot and getting enough votes to remain a ballot qualified party. That would mean no petition drive would be necesary in 2010! Think of the time, energy and money saved which can be used to elect people to the state legislature or county office. THAT is winning to me. Any time an attractive candidate at the head of the ticket (like Chuck Baldwin) can poll a significant number of votes to maintain ballot status that is a victory. I think Ron Paul has said this electoral process is a marathon and not a sprint. Party building is a goal unto itself and Chuck Baldwin is the man to help build the party into a force that CAN win future elections. Keep the faith... the Revolution continues!

Why can't CB win an Electoral College victory?

Theoretically he can if the ticket appears on enough state ballots. That would presuppose that the Baldwin/Castle ticket actually carries enough states to receive 270 electoral votes. In reality this is very unlikely to happen. Still, as I said earlier, the gaining of ballot access which becomes permanent is a victory in itself since it puts the party in a position to compete more equally in future elections. Alternative parties usually expend most of their resources in simply gaining access to the ballot. When ballot status is achieved and maintained by significant vote totals, resources can be spent on advertising rather than petitioning. Ballot access makes a huge difference.
