RE: Exposure

Impala- Good for you to say where the support needs to be. As far as I am concerned, Ron Paul was a Republican candidate, he did all that he could do including being in nationally televised debates, and he was surely successful in getting people to see just what is before us in this country. He choose not to become a third party candidate, I believe so that he could retain his congressional seat. He went as far as he could, with all of his supporters. It would not only be fair of him to step aside during the rest of the campaign season, but it definately would help Baldwin who I understand went very far in helping Paul when he was actively campaigning. He could help to turn Baldwin/Castle into almost household names in no time, if he honestly had the goals that would guarantee our freedoms and so many other issues that Baldwin agreed with him on. I think it a little selfish of him and some of his supporters to not help the only honest, intelligent and more than qualified candidate still in the race. Like I said, I think many of the Paul supporters are still hoping that he can get the nomination at the convention, which is more than highly unlikely, as the R & D political machines will insure the 2 sick, sorry pathetic choices we have. Oh well, maybe after the convention those still holding out hope will come over to Baldwin. Barr scares me as much as Obama and McCain.

RE: Exposure

Time is running out for Baldwin in Pennsylvania. I hope Ron Paul or some other person will come out endorse Baldwin. I have written to a lot of people, papers and stations. It almost seems that everybody, even the so-called conservatives are against him. I don't know why they keep critisizing McCain. Who else is anybody going to vote for if they don't let Baldwin into the race?

Randi Rhodes? Are you kidding me? Unless she had an epiphany and turned conservative, she'd eat him alive!!!

I'd like Chuck to appear on the Savage nation!
I emailed the program director at: clarkreid@clearchannel.com because Savage does not do email.

Everyone should email him.

I just read the above article and all 122 comments. I wanted to see what the sentiment was for Barr at this point. Interestingly the majority of comments were pro-Barr. Not because they like Barr and the LP so much as they are voting against McCain and Obama. Many want to teach the GOP a lesson. There were just a few comments supporting the CP and Dr. Baldwin. The author of the article does not even mention the CP and seems to think the only 3rd party candidate out there is Barr. This could be such a tremendous opportunity for the CP and Baldwin/Castle, if only their names could get out there more.

One of the comments I noted was from Mary/NJ- She said that she really liked Dr. Baldwin personally but, the problem she has with the party is that they keep mentioning God and religion in all of their speeches, and that is a turn off to her. While I am a devout believer in God and my Christian faith, I also don't think it wise to mention any religion in political candidacy speeches. The Constitution states that there must be a separation between Church and Government. In addition to other reasons, wasn't that why many people had a problem with Huckabee. I do understand that the CP recognizes all religions, but to keep mentioning Christian faith and values turns people of other faiths off. That is a shame as all of the CP messages are so correct.

Another comment was from jacmicwag/TX- He said that he was a Ron Paul supporter, but he had gotten a very nice email from the Barr campaign, and that he is going to look alot closer at Barr. How did the Barr campaign get the email list from the Paul campaign? Can't the CP also get that same email list and send a very nice email out to the Paul supporters so they can take a closer look at Baldwin? That would take alot of work I am sure, but would it not be worth the opportunity to get the Baldwin/Castle name out there?

RE: Exposure

I don't see how the CP and Chuck Baldwin can leave God out of their communications? Was not America founded on Christian Principles?
People that have a problem with Christianity being brought are probably the very ones that object to "One Nation under God" "Prayer in school" God on our money, etc.
As for me, I would rather take a stand for God and not be elected and rejected by man, than NOT mention my beliefs in God and deny him before man and be elected.
If all people that claim they believe in God in America would vote for Chuck Baldwin he would be elected hands down!

This article tells the tale:
Most Americans Believe in Higher Power, Poll Finds

By Jacqueline L. Salmon
Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, June 24, 2008; Page A02
Snippet.....
"Most Americans believe that angels and demons are active in the world, and nearly 80 percent think miracles occur, according to a poll released yesterday that takes an in-depth look at Americans' religious beliefs."
End Snippet......
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/story/2008/06/23/ST2008062300818.htm

Another article more specific with Christian beliefs....

"Many Americans still wonder about nature of Jesus"
Snippet.....
"A survey of 1,054 adult residents of the United States conducted by Scripps Howard News Service and Ohio University found that 75 percent "absolutely believe" that Jesus was a real person. Sixteen percent said they "mostly believe" in his historical reality, 5 percent "do not believe" and 4 percent were uncertain."

IMHO, the CP nor Chuck Baldwin should start pandering to the unbelievers.

I think they should "pander" to the unbelievers and try to make believers out of them. Any president of these United States should be a president for ALL the people.

RE: Exposure

I read a post on here somewhere where a Ron Paul supporter said that Dr. Paul rarely spoke about religion in his speeches. That is as it should be. Why would any party want to try to put forth their religious convictions? If the aim is to capture the Evangelical Christians, you are putting yourself in a tiny little box. Jim Randleman- you commented that you would rather lose an election than turn against talking about God. I applaud your convictions, but disagree with you that God needs to be a part of CP speeches. I firmly say then, if you put yourself in a box, you will never find your way out of it. In addition to the comments I quoted above about the Barr article, there was another poster that said that the CP was not truly a Constitution Party. I will read into that that the Baldwin campaign is more about the Christian religion, and dispargages the other religions. I am not talking about the Islam medrassas that promote violence, they surely should be stopped in the US, if you can find the ones that are harmful.

What does the Constitution say about religion, and the religious freedoms here in our country. We Christians cannot dictate religion to others. My religion is deep within myself. My religious teacher whether he is a pastor, priet or whatever will lead me in the direction where I feel comfortable with my beliefs in God. I really don't want someone trying to teach me about God in their beliefs and traditions, most especially a political candidate running for office. Religion should be in your chosen church teachings that you go to for that purpose. For me, my beliefs are very personal as I believe it should be with all religions.

Where exactly does it state that?
