you guys could also try to convince the Reform Party of Kansas to put Chuck on the ballot. The RP in KS is buchananite and likes the CP alot.
Someone call up the chairman and suggest it.
I have spoken with the Reform Party chairman, and they are behind Dr. Baldwin all the way. I was on a conference call with them last night discussing ballot access. Most of them are in Western Kansas, and they already have the forms they need to start petitioning. I also have all the forms to petition and am near Kansas City.
Great. I'm going to start with family and just see how many forms I can go through.

Great! Now everyone needs to contact the America First Party's national officers and the Reform Party of Ohio's officers. We need both party's nominations

Dear Sir or Madam
What would it take to get the Constitution Party on the ballot in Kansas as an official recognized party before the next Presidential election?

For party ballot access:
16,994 valid elector signatures (registered voters) collected by qualified petition circulators (eligible to be a voter), properly notarized and submitted to the Secretary of State. That would have to have happened by now in order for the SoS to have 30 days for the county election officers to validate the signatures and declare the KSCP as a major party and give us time to still submit candidates to the SoS prior to June 10. Not going to happen this year...
For independent candidate 5000 valid signatures and qualified petition circulators properly notarized and submitted by Aug 4 to declare a president/vp as independent candidates. We're gearing up to do this.

So, if I wanted to help collect signatures, what would I have to do?

P.S. After the election, would it be possible to revisit the possibility of getting the CP recognized in Kansas?

Re: 2008 petition - how to help
Use the attached petition form (page 1). Separate page for signatures from each county, even if it's just one signature from that county - fill in the county name in the blank at the top. Blue or black ink for everything.
For all of the signatures each circulator collects, one completed and notarized affidavit (page 2). A circulator is any one that is circulating the petition - collecting (and witnessing) signatures. A circulator has to be eligible to be a voter in Kansas (i.e., 18 and a resident, but not necessarily registered to vote). Return the petitions and affidavit(s) to me NLT July 15. They're due to the Sec of State by noon August 4, so we'll need time to count, make copies, etc.
Even if you only collect your own signature (yes, sign the petition yourself) and one other name, send me the forms. Every signature counts.
If people ask for info, tell them the party website constitutionparty.com.
Re: P.S.: CP party recognition
If we can get Baldwin on the ballot this year, then next year 2009 is get (re)organized and petition drive for party ballot access and identify candidates for 2010 state elections.
Sorry for the long post there guys. I just discovered these forums. I am sorry I couldn't have posted earlier. The above post is a copy of an email conversation I had when I sent an email to the address on the Kansas Constitution Party web site. I don't know why Curt wouldn't have responded to emails because, as you can see, he was always pretty quick responding to mine.
Maybe he is out there collecting signatures and hasn't had time to check his email?
1.)Contact Jonathan Martin of the Kansas Reform Party and ask him how you can help them and if they'll PLEASE put Baldwin on the ballot. The KS Reform Party is Buchananite, and wasa BIG Paul-supporting group.
2.) Contact thestate chairman of the CP, Curt Engelbrecht, and help with petitions.
This is excellent news since it saves the campaign the expense of collecting 5000 signatures to appear as an independent. The only downside is that it actually helps a competing alternative party maintain ballot status while doing little to build the CP in Kansas. Let's see... Chuck is now on the ballot under the labels Constitution Party, American Independent Party, Independent American Party, Taxpayers Party, Reform Party and independent. That might be a record! Perhaps he can get either the Independence Party or Right to Life Party nomination in New York and the Conservative Party in New Jersey and set a new record!
