Missouri Campaign Activity
WEEK IN REVIEW
July 14 - 20, 2008
Monday, July 14: The Bad News (Nationwide)
St. Louis, MO: Immediately following the announcement that the St. Louis Chrysler Assembly Plant will close down resulting in the loss of 2,500 jobs, St. Louis based Anheuser-Busch announces the In-Bev takeover/foreign sellout. Investors make more $$ - but thousands of jobs will be lost. Tens of thousands of jobs at a dozen other breweries around the country are now at risk. Auggie Busch, IV had said just the week before that a sale would never happen on his watch. Well, money talks.
We MUST get back to "AMERICA FIRST & AMERICAN WORKERS FIRST"
The Constitution Party will help restore our Constitutional Republic because, sadly, it does not now exist
NOW THE GOOD NEWS....................
Volunteer & Candidate Activities:
Fellow CPer, Justin Goddard's, letter was published in the Kansas City Star. Click on the link below. It is the 7th letter down. Good job, Justin!
http://www.kansascity.com/309/v-print/story/704951.html
Thanks to fellow CPers, Wes Franklin and Phil Jose, for reporting that excerpts from the radio interview of candidate for U.S. Congress, Travis Maddox', from the Newton County Fair re-aired every news hour on the hour today.
Tuesday, July 15: Volunteer & Candidate Activities
Justin Goddard has a 2nd letter printed in the Examiner. Click on the link below. A banner week for Justin and the CP! Shall we go for 3??
http://www.examiner.net/letters/x2114528...hink-today
Wes and Phil also reported that excerpts from candidate for Governor, Gregory Thompson's, live radio interview from the Newton County Fair re-aired every news hour on the hour today.
Travis Maddox was economically coerced into officially resigning from his job with the City of Springfield because he refused to withdraw his congressional candidacy and his position as Vice-Chair of the CPMO. Based on his motto: "Truth", "Principle", "Individual Liberty", he did the right thing.
Thursday, July 17: Candidate Activity
Gregory Thompson handed out campaign literature and yard signs at the El Dorado Springs Picnic.
Friday, July 18: Candidate Activities
Thanks to fellow CPer and Chairman of Newton & McDonald Counties, Wes Franklin, and his family, also official CPers, Cheryl Franklin (mom), and Travis Franklin (brother), for reserving and manning a booth at the McDonald County Fair in Anderson, MO, where both candidates, Gregory Thompson and Travis Maddox, met hundreds of people who committed their votes to them. While the Dems, Repubs, and Indp had booths there as well, other vendors offered to help hand out CP candidate literature. Hooray!
We need another hundred volunteers like the Franklin family!
Sarah Steelman, Republican candidate for Governor, and her campaign manager showed up in the afternoon.
Gregory then attended the Bates County Fair in Butler, MO, where he was interviewed on KMOE 92.1 FM radio.
Then Gregory spent the evening at the Cass County Fair in Pleasant Hill, MO, where he handed out more literature and yard signs. The Dems/Repubs/Indp. were there too.
Saturday, July 19: Candidate Activities
Thanks to new CP member and Chairman of Clinton and Ray Counties, Gary Murray, for making arrangements for Gregory to participate in the Lawson Community Parade & Picnic in Lawson, MO. Supporters walked in the parade holding the BIG CP banner while another drove Greg's Suburban with his banner on it.
A special thanks to our favorite 85 yr. old activist CP couple, Bill & Marilyn Poythress, who drove from Kansas City to deliver CP supplies and lend a helping hand to promote the Party.
Gary reports he signed up a dozen new CP supporters in the first hour; all of who want to help spread the CP word.
Please take notes from Wes and Gary: This is how YOU can help grow and spread the word about this Party.
Gregory then stopped in Warrensburg at the Race Track and handed out more campaign literature and some yard signs.
Gregory then attended the Ray County Fair in Richmond, MO. Dems/Repubs/Indps were there.
Fellow CPer, Wes Franklin, helped Travis hand out more campaign flyers for Travis, Gregory, and Chuck Baldwin, as well as CPMO Party literature, while Travis personally visited with 100s of voters at the McDonald County Fair.
Springfield News-Leader published a story about Travis losing his job with the City due to his political involvements.
Sunday, July 20: Candidate Activities
Gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Gregory Thompson, officiated at the morning service at Palmer Baptist Church in Springfield, MO
THESE CANDIDATES ARE WORKING HARD.
LET'S WORK TO HELP THEM HELP US.

RE: Missouri Campaign Activity
WEEK IN REVIEW
JULY 21 - 27, 2008
Monday, July 21: Candidate Activities
Richard Smith, candidate for U.S. Congress, kicked off his campaign today. He's criss-crossing the 8th Congressional District in his 18-wheeler and was interviewed on Radio KDIM 960 AM in Cape Girardeau, which will be re-aired several more times.
Bob Mills, candidate for State Rep. #151, is officially endorsed by League of the South. Hooray!
Gregory Thompson, candidate for Governor, was interviewed by Missouri University Radio, KBIA 91.3 FM http://www.kbia.org. It will be run under "Talking Politics" on the website and is scheduled to air on Tuesday, Aug. 5 or Aug. 12. We will let you know when we know. Cool, huh?
Gregory passed out much campaign literature with good response at the Saline County Fair in Columbia, MO The Dems/Reps had booths too. Gregory reports, "We feel like we picked up many new supporters. People are wanting something different, and many of them are wanting to help us make it happen. These fairs are where we need to be!"
Gregory was invited to dinner and gave a speech at the VFW Hall in Ava, MO. He picked up 32 new supporters and donated 95 yard signs!! 29 gave him a hug, and all vowed to help.
Tuesday, July 22: Candidate Activity
Congressional candidate, Richard Smith, visited outside four stores in Rolla talking to about 60 or so people He then knocked on 25 to 27 doors introducing himself to homeowners. He drove to Houston, where he visited with about 50 more people and shook more than twice that many hands!
Travis walked the streets of Springfield handing out campaign literature to the businesses.
Wednesday, July 23: Volunteer & Candidate Activities
CPer & Congressional candidate, Cindy Redburn, wrote a letter to Dr. Dobson regarding his possible endorsement of John McCain.
County Chairman, Gary Murray, called Dr. Dobson's office twice. They admitted being deluged with phone calls from concerned Christians.
Chairman Ivanovich was interviewed by the Columbia Missourian Newspaper explaining why the CPMO will not be on the Aug. 5 Primary ballot.
Congressional candidate, Richard Smith, drove to Cabool and West Plains, where he talked to about 200 people and knocked on doors of 25 homes in both communities.
Travis spent time walking the streets in Nixa and Highlandville today handing out campaign literature to businesses.
Thursday, July 24: Volunteer & Candidate Activities
County Chairman, Doug Moore, had his letter published in the Tri-County News in King City, MO
Travis walked Commercial Street and the Square in Springfield handing out campaign literature.
Gregory Thompson stopped in Branson, MO to hand out campaign literature and was very well received.
Thanks to fellow CPers, Ray & Laurie Kish, for making arrangements for Gregory Thompson and Travis Maddox to attend the Louisburg Picnic. And, a BIG thanks to their friends, Danny & Gwynn Miller, for lending a helping hand manning the booth, giving out Party literature, and selling yard signs. Everyone stayed til 10 PM promoting the CPMO and its candidates.
Ray reports his friend, Danny, created a great poster. It was the perfect attention grabber and caused many people to stop and read what it said. Once they stopped, Ray, Laurie, Danny & Gwynn, Gregory, and Travis were able to talk to them about the CP and the candidates and give them literature.
Ray can e-mail you a photo of the poster, and he has it in a WORD document if anybody wishes to get one of their own printed for an event you will be working.
By the way, the CP ordered 200 Chuck Baldwin yard signs from CPMO Honorary Member, Daniel New, in Texas. We would appreciate a $3/each donation to help defray our costs. Contact Ray for a photo of the yard signs and for shipping info at raykish@constitutionpartymo.org
'Elect Gregory Thompson for Governor' yard signs are also available for a donation. Contact his assistant, Judy Leach, for shipping info at jleach@asleepknowmore.org . Chairman Donna also has a few in her possession in the St. Louis area.
Contact Travis to get his yard signs for the 7th Congressional District at travismaddox@constitutionpartymo.org
Friday, July 25: Candidate & Volunteer Activities
While the Kishes and their friends returned to work the Louisburg Picnic, Gregory Thompson and Travis Maddox joined forces again at the 2nd largest State Fair in MO, the Ozark Empire Fair in Springfield, MO. CP brothers, Wes and Travis Franklin drove from McDonald County to help man the booth hand out Party literature. Many people purchased yard signs and report they are hungry for something better and something different.
Fellow CPer, Jan Farthing, called Senator McCaskill's office requesting she oppose an embargo against Iran for their supposed refusal to stop making "weapons of mass destruction". Jan reminded her that an embargo would be an invitation for attack, just as in WW II. "You don't keep peace by telling another country what they can and cannot do in their own country". WAY TO GO, JAN.
Richard Smith began making random phone calls, starting in the A's thru the Z's. He started at 8 AM and stopped at 4 PM with a 1-hour lunch break and an hour to mow the lawn. He called about 88 homes, where most people just wanted to chat. They talked about ideas, the CP platform, and what issues were facing the people of the district. Richard said, "it was kinda' fun."
Saturday, July 26: Candidate Activities
Travis Maddox reports, "This is great! The only problem we might have this week is running out of literature. I guess that's a good problem to have. Several people signed up for yard signs and emails. There were even other vendors encouraging people to stop at our table. The fair people got on to us because so many people were stopping at our table that it was causing a bottle-neck. Some members of a local church came by today to help and they brought in a lot of people. A resident across the street on the main strip asked Gregory to put up one of his 4'x5' signs and it looks great. I think we need to start preparing to be a major player in politics in the state. "
Congressional candidate, Cindy Redburn, called in to the Phyllis Schlafley Eagle Forum Live radio program. She talked about the Christian voters, who dismiss third party candidates from the CP because they can't win. Phyllis and her guest spent much time on this issue which helped promote the Party. Another person called in and further discussed voting for Chuck Baldwin so they don't have to waste their vote.
You see, it only takes one person to start others to thinking outside the box...............
Sunday, July 27: Volunteer & Candidate Activities
Thanks to fellow CPer, Marilyn, Poythress, for inviting and emceeing Gregory Thompson as their guest speaker at Concerned Citizens Group in Independence, MO. Gregory reports they were a most engaging group quite willling to help get out the word.
Marilyn reported that everyone loved Gregory Thompson! 2 new families attended; one from Cameron, the other from Blue Springs. They took tons of literature and books from Greg. Marilyn reports, "He was so good, and had a question and answer session."
Thanks to new CP member and County Chairman, Doug Moore, for arranging a group discussion for Gregory at the Union Star Firehouse in Union Star, MO. It was a small group, but they were all "fired up" and "ready to do something!
Doug reports that, "everyone left with a lot to think about, including Greg. He met my Grandmother who has been a Bible scholar-teacher for over 60 years, not to mention the fact that she's a funny lady. The point was well made that the time for action is now. No more sitting on the sidelines waiting for someone else to take care of the problems."
Further, Doug said, "I immediately liked Greg and could have talked to him for hours about the things going on; although I was outclassed by his knowledge."

Dana reported that the hardest working and most completely delightful campaigners were Pat & Emily's children, Sarah and Austin, 9 & 12 yrs. old. Fellow CPers, David & Sue Schantz, and Chairman Donna participated in a conference call hosted by http://www.washingtonyourefired.com with Chuck Baldwin and Darrell Castle as guest speakers.
Dave reports he has had people tell him that Chuck could not perform the duties of President since he has never held any other office. Sue explains, "it is no different than a woman who has never raised a child, getting pregnant for the first time, and becoming a wonderful parent. GREAT ANALOGY, DAVE & SUE.
Dave also admitted that had he not already made up his mind to vote for Chuck Baldwin that after being on this call, he would have definitely made up his mind to vote CB!!! Hooray
Mark Kiser, fellow CPer and Campaign Manager for Gregory Thompson, arranged a "Meet the Candidate Forum" hosted by the Concerned Citizens for Thompson at the Library Center in Springfield, MO. Travis Maddox and Dr. Thompson shared the CP platform and answered questions from participants.
Ray Kish reports KOLR 10 TV News interviewed Gregory. Thanks to Phil Jose, CP's Communication Director, for inviting the media. GREGORY DOES NOT SUPPORT EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH AS THE REPORTER MIS-STATED. Phil sent the TV station a corrected statement.
Click on this link: http://ozarksfirst.com/media_player.php?media_id=79071
This interview was aired at 9:00 PM on KSFX and a shorter version was aired at 10:00 PM on KOLR 10. Ray's children managed to get on TV too. See them standing in front of Gregory in the beginning of the clip.
Ray further reports the attendees were really enthused about both Greg's and Travis' candidacies. They asked good questions, and both Greg and Travis answered them very well.
Please Read These UN-solicited Endorsements Made by the Attendees:
1) A basketball referee stood up and publicly announced that he had seen Dr. Thompson interact with students, faculty and staff while superintendent of the public schools in Humansville, MO. With that in mind, he stated that "Dr. Thompson is a man of high integrity and would make a great Governor".
2) A former Republican State Representative arrived late and did not hear (1) above. He stood up, however, and publicly announced that with his personal knowledge of Gregory that he would fully endorse him as the best man for MO's Governor.
3) Another man, who identified himself as the President of his Homeowner's Association, stated that their subdivision does not allow political yard signs. However, he publicly announced that because he agrees with Greogry and the "urgency of the times", it had prompted him to take not 1, but 2, yard signs that he will proudly plant. He stated he will stand with Gregory and urge others to "take a bold stand for our country".
Friday, August 1:
Travis Maddox will work the Ozark Empire Fair booth. Travis has handed out over 4,000 pieces of campaign literature and talked to several thousand voters who are "ready for a real change"!
Thanks to CPer, Ray Kish, for reporting that Chairman Donna's thank-you letter was published in the News-Leader in Springfield, MO.

RE: Missouri Campaign Activity
WEEK IN REVIEW
AUG. 4 - 10, 2008
Please review all the activities below and help these courageous candidates take this battle to the enemy by working in their campaigns, or becoming an official member, or making your most generous donation.
Monday, Aug. 4:
U.S. Congressional candidate, Cindy Redburn, received her shipment of yard signs and 5,000 pieces of campaign literature. She's going door to door in 100 degree heat to businesses and finding people are very open to her message and excited about supporting her. A family practice doctor took literature for his office, and a dog grooming business owner took literature for her shop.
Cindy's favorite story is when she spoke to 3 young men at Jiffy Lube. They listened intently while she explained constitutional government and how it would affect their lives and our country. One said, "I would vote for you anyway, just because you are the only candidate, who is running for Congress, who would ever come here and spend time talking to me." That made it all worthwhile. People really want people in office, who can relate to them and who really care.
Tuesday, Aug. 5:
Fellow CPer and candidate for State Rep #, Bob Mills, also serves as a child advocate. He was present during a Children’s Division hearing in front of 37th Judicial Circuit Judge David Evans. Before the proceeding began, but while the court was filled with about 25 people, Judge Evans publicly asked, “Bob, are you running for office?” Bob replied that he was. The Judge then asked what office he was seeking and said, “Are you running on the Independent Party or something like that?” Bob told him that he was a candidate for the Constitution Party. He said that he received a state wide listing of each candidate, the office they were seeking and the party they represented. Bob was planning to make his announcement after the primary election was over, but Judge Evans kicked off his campaign earlier than planned. THE WORD IS GETTING OUT - HOORAY
Candidate for Governor, Dr. Gregory Thompson, met with supporters at the Pizza Hut in Marshall, MO
Wednesday, Aug. 6:
Click here and hear Vincent David Jericho of KSGF Radio announce his support for CP's candidate for U.S. Congress, Travis Maddox. It starts at minute 38 in the podcast.
http://www.ksgf.com/DesktopModules/Orizo...wsid=37250
Thursday, Aug. 7:
Gregory was the guest speaker for 1 hour on KTTS Radio 94.7 FM with Host, David Vincent Jericho. Travis Maddox reports he hit a gigantic "Home Run". Click on the link below and listen to the interview. Ray Kish also posted the link on the CPMO Home Page.
http://www.ksgf.com/DesktopModules/Orizo...wsid=37286
Gregory was the guest speaker on KWTO Radio 560 AM
Gregory working at the Sedalia State Fair, which opened today. Gregory has put over 1,800 miles on his car over the past 18 days campaigning all over Missouri. That's serious, folks. He needs your participation and your help.
Fellow CPer, Judi VanDuyn, with friends, Esther Miller, Elizabeth Young, and young 17 yr. old Eli, helped Gregory this week. More help is needed.
Cindy Redburn spent the day walking the streets in Festus, MO talking to business owers with much positive feedback.
Mark Opheim continues to walk his District. He is finding that using the new & improved CP Platform, which bridges each plank to our founding documents, is a HUGE benefit. Both Democrats & Republicans cannot dispute this.
Friday Aug. 8:
Travis just topped 2,000 hits on his campaign web site. Not too shabby considering he has had little, to no, media coverage. Check out http://www.VoteTravisMaddox.com
Brand new CPMO member, Harold Thompson (no relation to Gregory) wrote a wonderful note to his Republican friends. Excerpts as follows: GOD BLESS YOU HAROLD
"As most of you know, I have been a "Republican" all of my adult life. Over the past several years the Republican party has veered to the left. Though still a conservative at heart, the Republican party, as an entity, is no longer conservative by any stretch of the imagination. They no longer represent or stand for most issues and beliefs that are important to me. This has been a very tough decision to make and I didn't do it lightly. If you keep doing what you have been doing, you will keep getting the results you have been getting.
The times we live in require a strong belief in a republican (small "r") form of government, a strong belief in the basic decency of the American people and a strong belief in and dedication to our Constitution.
I believe the Constitution party shares my beliefs and will best represent those beliefs in Jefferson City and in Washington, D.C. I urge you to check out the Constitution Party of Missouri........................"
Thad Wheeler, candidate for State Rep #152, invested 9 solid hours driving to every newspaper publisher in his District to purchase a political ad that circulates to nearly 25,000 households! The population is only 40,000 citizens (counting children) Whew! He's getting the word out!!
A letter to the editor was published in the South County Times written by Cindy and Donna regarding upcoming weekly Forums hosted by the Constitution Party of Missouri.
Saturday, Aug. 9:
The following CP candidate questionaires were published in The Constitutional Coalition's Front Line Voter's Guide. Good job ! Gregory Thompson, Jim Rensing, Denise Neely, Cindy Redburn, Travis Maddox, Don Simmons, and Don Griffin,
Since St. Joseph, MO is now designated as having the fastest growing Hispanic population in the U.S., fellow CPers, Dave and Sue Schantz, figured if they're "legal", then they wouldn't be offended by the "Chuck Baldwin/Stop Illegal Aliens" sign now planted in their yard.

RE: Missouri Campaign Activity
WEEK IN REVIEW
AUGUST 11 - 17
Monday, Aug. 11:
Picnic in the Park for Travis Maddox, Candidate for U.S. Congress, was a HUGE success. 2 bands played Southern Gospel and Classic Rock. Pastor Ronnie Dean of Silver Springs Church grilled the food. Fellow CPer, David Lininger, attended. Many supporters, including Libbys, took yard signs.
Fellow CPers, David & Sue Schantz, agreed to be Buchanan County Co-Chairs to help grow the CP in NW MO. A BIG thanks to these volunteers.
Tuesday, Aug. 12:
Other friends of the CP, Elizabeth Young and Esther Miller, helped Gregory at the Sedalia State Fair along with fellow CPers, Judi VanDuyn, Bill & Marilyn Poythress, Shawna Read, Gary Murray and Doug Moore. 18 yr. old warrior, Eli, has been helping Gregory every day. What a blessing he is!
Wednesday, Aug. 13:
A young fairgoer and former State Rep candidate, Phillip Sherman, who met Gregory for the first time at the State Fair, was so inspired that he stayed to man the booth for nearly 7 hours.
The owner of the Ramada Inn across the street planted 6 Gregory for Governor signs.
Thursday, Aug. 14:
Travis opened his booth at the Republic Fall Festival in Republic, MO. Fellow CPers, Ray & Laurie Kish, Wes Scroggins, and Wes Franklin, helped. Travis's friend, Larry Melton, and sister & brother-in-law, Kyle & Kim Vance, and his mother, Eva Maddox, all joined in to help "the cause".
Friday, Aug. 15:
Travis in Republic
Gregory in Sedalia
Cindy Redburn, candidate for U.S. Congress, was personally interviewed by the editor of the South County Times Newspaper.
Jim Rensing, candidate for Lt. Gov., was telephone interviewed by the editor of the South County Times Newspaper.
Saturday, Aug. 16:
Please read the following testimony from new CP Member and Andrew & DeKalb Counties Chairman, Doug Moore, who worked the Sedalia State Fair for Gregory:
I made my way home yesterday after spending some time with Gregory at the State Fair down at Sedalia. I gotta tell you, it was a truly great experience. We met and talked with literally hundreds of people while I was there Friday evening and Saturday morning. I was amazed at the interest shown in what Dr. Thompson had to say and the message the CP is trying to get out there. I fully expected to be largely ignored by the passing fairgoers but, many stopped and asked questions and shared their concerns.
Some, of course, weren't interested. A few were just rude. Most were at least polite. Missouri has a lot of good folks.
I was priviledged to meet Eli, a young man that was there helping Greg. That kid's a real trooper! He'd been there since the 7th and was staying until it's over. He just turned 18 the week before. I didn't think anybody that young would be out-going enough for what was going on but this guy apparently doesn't know a stranger. It sort of renews your faith in young folks when you meet someone like him.
We stayed with Greg's folks in Marshall. They were really nice folks who shared the hospitality of their home with a stranger. I felt welcome the minute I walked in.
Anyone who really believes in what the CP is all about and doesn't take the opportunity to lend a hand at an event like this is really missing out on a great experience.
Sunday, Aug. 17:
Gregory and Eli opened their booth bright and early this morning for the last day of the Sedalia State Fair. Supporters were already there and waiting to meet him. Friends of the CP, Larry and his son, James, came by to help. Gregory met them at the St. Louis CHEF Conference (Christian Home Educators Fellowship). James is 16 yrs. old and 6 ft. tall. Both James and Eli are the kind of young men America needs in leadership.
Revolution Broadcasting is interviewing CP candidates all day from all over America. Chuck Baldwin was on early this morning. He was great! CP Vice-Presidential candidate, Darrell Castle, and MO' Travis Maddox were interviewed later.
Chairman Donna was able to call in to C-Span to promote the CP and its candidates as a real alternative to the globalist/traitors in the 1-party system that now exists.
LET US KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING TO HELP PROMOTE THE CP MESSAGE AND ITS CANDIDATES?

Wednesday, Aug. 20:
Following the message about "McCain is NOT pro-life", new County Chairman, David Schantz, shared his testimony. He was born in 1950 and put up for adoption at birth. His Birth Certificate shows his birth mother's name and father as un-known, which leads David to believe his birth mother was un-wed. Un-wed Mothers would have been looked down on by the majority of folks in 1950. She may have made some mistakes in her life, but as far Dave knows, she was not a murderer (IMO abortion and murder are one and the same).
She carried David full term to birth. David says if he was trying to think of a person that stood for pro-life, this un-known lady would come to mind long before John McCain or
many others like him. David figures he was blessed with two loving mothers. One gave birth, and the other raised him.
Cindy Redburn, candidate for U.S. Congress, held her first weekly public forum to teach attendees about the U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence.
Fellow CPer and Candidate for State Treasurer, Rodney Farthing, opened their booth at the Dent County Fair today with his wife, Jan, and gubernatorial candidate, Gregory Thompson. Candidate for State Rep., Pastor Dennis Hustead, and new friend of the CP, Vada Ayers, also helped work the booth. What a great team in Salem, MO!!!
Thursday, Aug. 21:

Gregory campaigned all day at the Butler County Fair in Poplar Bluff, MO today.
Thad Wheeler, candidate for State Rep, walked the streets of Eminence, MO campaigning in the rain. He passed out almost 300 "slim jims". He went door to door, gas stations, vet clinic, restaurants, etc...We ordered another 1000 slim jims and reserved a booth at the Reynolds County Fair for next week. His new email is most appropriate..........patriotthad@yahoo.com. Way to go, Thad!!!!!

Travis Maddox, Candidate for U.S. Rep, set up an information booth and worked at the Crane Boiler Festival in Stone County.
Saturday, Aug. 23:
The Green Fest in Kansas City was a Constitution Party success!! This was the first time for this event with 25 booths. Friends of the CP, Esther Miller and Sergey, and fellow CPers & KC Coordinators, Marilyn and Bill Poythress and Congressional District Chairman, Judy VanDuyn, worked the table. They passed out lots of flyers about Gregory Thompson and Chuck Baldwin and talked to a lot of people - a number of teens, which Judy really liked - "get them off on the right foot", she says. A number of people had never heard about us, but a pleasant # knew of us.
CP County Chairman, David Schantz, had another great letter to the editor published in the St. Joseph News-Press. Keep up the good work.
Brand new official CP members, John & Diana Thrower, hosted a delightful breakfast/Open House for Gregory Thompson, candidate for Governor, where he spoke to a room full of new visitors at the Vision Library in St. Charles, MO. Fellow CPers, Frank Zahoran and Chairman Donna, attended to show their support. Newcomers took many yard signs and books. Two attendees were so inspired by Gregory that they were brought to tears.
Later, Chairman Donna hosted an Open House for Gregory where several newcomers came to learn more about the Party and candidates, Gregory and Jim Rensing. Phil Jose, Communications Director, and fellow CPers, Jan & Bill Spaits, also attended to show their support. Newcomers took yard signs and books; one pro-lifer invited us to her church in the morning.
Sunday, Aug. 24:
Gregory and Chairman Donna attended People's Church in Arnold, MO where Gregory was invited by Pastor Brooks to give his testimony and announced he was running for Governor. The sermon was about the "Pursuit of Excellence" from the Book of Nehemiah. It was such an appropriate sermon because while dedicated CPers are "re-building the wall" just like Nehemiah did, there are negative-minded critics who stand back and do nothing except criticize. Many in the congregation were elated that Gregory is running for office. Many took campaign literature and Gregory gave them a case of books.
Gregory and Chairman Donna then attended Life in Christ Outreach, where Pastor Matthew Sheffer also invited Gregory to give his testimony and announced his candidacy. This church was so excited and enthusiastic when they learned there was an alternative to the "1-party" system. Nearly every single person in this congregation took campaign literature and yard signs. Some lived in Districts where we could plant 3 candidate yard signs: Chuck, Gregory & Cindy signs!!
Gregory then raced to VanBuren, MO to meet with another church and to be interviewed on their local radio station. Enroute, a Highway Patrol officer pulled him over but let him go on a warning. Yep! you guessed it......Greg gave him a pushcard and asked for his vote........always campaigning. Way to go Gregory. He's gonna be our next Gov. !!!!!!!!
The Pastor of the VanBuren church asked Gregory not to mention politics in the pulpit, to which Gregory complied. After Gregory gave his testimony, the Pastor was moved to tears. He then stood in the pulpit and announced that Gregory was running for MO Governor and that everybody needed to vote for him due to the urgency of the times. He even planted a BIG highway sign in front of the church facing the highway. We need more preachers like this to take a BOLD stand for we, the people of the U.S.A. AMEN!!!
Travis Maddox has invited everyone to check out the photos of some of the fair booths they worked. He posted on flickr.
