RE: NC Constitution Party

Why didn't the CP of NC join in the lawsuit now being argued against the state by the LP and the GP? I hope that should the other two parties win that the relief will benefit ALL alternative parties.

RE: NC Constitution Party

I am not sure exactly why we did not join in, may have had something to do with funds, seeing how we aren't exactly a rich party (as I am sure you all understand). Even still, the decision made on the Libertarian-Green lawsuit is effective for ALL minor parties in the state, so we are definitely hoping and praying for a favorable outcome for their lawsuit.

Wait you can't just write in Chuck Baldwin? He has to be write-in candidate. Wow but hey this is what happens in a two-party dictatorship where choice is only an illusion.

Nope, you have to get signatures to qualify the candidate as a Write-In. If the candidate is not qualified as a Write-In candidate, or otherwise has not filed as such, any vote made for that candidate in the Write-In space is thrown out, not even counted. So this is one reason Ron Paul supporters need to stop claiming that they are going to Write-In Ron Paul's name on the ballot, because unless HE files for Write-In Candidacy those votes literally will not be counted, and hardly anyone is going to see them. This is one reason I REALLY hope that Ron Paul will endorse Chuck Baldwin's campaign for the Presidency. I admire those Ron Paul supporters who are that determined to get Ron Paul (and believe me I wish he could be on the ballot as well), but to write him in when HE has not filed for write in status, which he will not because he is running for the Congress again, is not going to count.

Give your vote to Chuck Baldwin, forget Republican party loyalty, he is the new RP candidate for President!!

RE: NC Constitution Party

Jordon,

Thanks for commenting on this topic. I would love to add my signature (I live in Raleigh) if and when a petition is formed.

I was shocked to read, "but to write him in when HE has not filed for write in status, which he will not because he is running for the Congress again, is not going to count."

Baldwin is my man then, because a write-in that won't count is nothing more than a wasted vote, but a write-in that does count is hope for America.

Have any of you met the guys/gals who run the NC Constitution Party? I plan on emailing them, but on their site they just have info that Chuck Baldwin is being considered as a candidate, ie. information from weeks ago. Didn't know if anyone here had any info on them. I just found they had a forum, so I'll check that out.

We are in process of updating, we are small in NC (Most in NC buy into false left/right and dem/repub paradigm)

Though I stepped down a few days ago as Chairman, no one else has come forward.

BTW-we do have forms on our site now to get ballot access (we need about 102,000 signatures to get the certifiable 70,000+) and will be posting soon forms to download for write in access drive (500 signatures). This takes longer, as our state requires application in Dr. Chuck's hand.

NC has the same problems as other affilaites, a lot of people waiting to see what happens, darn few that are willing to take the bull by horns and actually go out and DO something.

I wrote in Peroutka Baldwin in 2004, knowing that it would be thrown out, yet knwoing I was loyal to principle and God.

If voting for what is right, no matter the consequence-is a wasted vote, than it is a slap in face to God and those around us watching us and gaining strength from our stand.

What hope did 11 scruffy men and women have in the uuper room.

Go to Peroutka's old site and listen the the 2004 speeches-esp Baldwin's and Doug Phillips. They should point you to the correct way of thinking. Also, search the site for former CP NC Chariman Michael Harrison's article on wasted vote.

It was a matter of money, though I told Shaun Haugh that I would be happy to give deposition or anything we could do to help.

CP of NC is smaller and newer than LP and we have a lot of "we'll, love ya, will sit on duff till something happens" people. That is whay I had CP NC join Ballot Coalition and told leaders to work whenever possible w/LP, maybe they could learn some good things and get the activist bug.

I think it's like the 3rd toughest and I just went on their forum and the Chairman has just stepped down and from the comments I've read, it looks like no one is picking up the reins. I signed up to be a part of the forum, but I have to wait for the admin to approve me. Hope to find out the situation, but it's not looking good from what I saw. I hope I'm wrong.

We may have a fellow to step in for me, but until then, I am Chair I guess and Vice Chair (Thank the Lord for Mr. Greene, as I also acted as Secretary for a time-hpefully Bryan Greene will run for Chair in fall after his campaign, unless he is in d.C.)
