Thompson in poll at politics1.com

A poll at politics1.com has Missouri Gubernatorial candidate Greg Thompson at 2% in the news blog. Even though the percentage is low, it is still progress in that our next move (after 50 state ballot access) is to have CST candidates in the polling data on a regular basis. Here is the info as well as the link: MISSOURI (SurveyUSA): Attorney General Jay Nixon (D) - 54%, Congressman Kenny Hulshof ® - 37%, software engineer Andy Finkenstadt (Libt) - 2%, former school district superintendent Gregory Thompson (Const) - 2% http://www.politics1.com/blog-0908a.htm

RE: Thompson in poll at politics1.com

2% gets us ballot access for the next election. That will allow us to expend our energy campaigning instead of collecting signatures. Thanks for the link.

And that is why quality candidates should always run in qualifying statewide races. Usually a candidate for an office like State Treasurer or State Auditor has an easier time polling 2% (or whatever the magic percentage number happens to be) than the person running for a higher profile office like Governor. Somehow people are less likely to get caught in the "wasted vote syndrome" the farther down the ballot one goes.
