TO GET ELECTED111
I believe that for the CP to get more votes from the independent and other Christians, is the following two points (yes there are other important points, but I believe these are impera;tive) --
1) Chuck Baldwin needs to take a leave of absence from CrossRoad Chuch until the election is over.
2) Chuck Baldwin needs to get the Crossroad Church out of a government 501©3, corporate status.
Reason for point 1) is that by still staying as pastor it turns off (away) some Christians such as myself as I feel the emphasis is not placed enough on what he intends to do or change, etc. By still being the active pastor to me it seems more church and not what needs to be done for the Constitution.
Reason for point 2) --NO church in this country should incorporate in a state to become a creature of that state and then sign up as a 50l ©3, corporation with the federal government so as to allow the tax exemptions to those contributors.
Many will jump off on a tangent and start critizing me before they really study the subjects. I am turned off by Chuck staying on as Pastor and not sending out more information on how to get us all back to the Constitution. The website for the CP is poor (my opinion).
I am a strong Christian, but I am also turned away by all of the talk that seems to be just spouting Christianity and not some practical sense.
I have listened to CPers and all it is about is "religion", I hear very little about "politics" (can I say that?). After all we must eat, we can't just say Jesus will put the food on the table if we don't work.
Others might expound on this in a more logical manner than I.
As to a 50l©3 -- I don't understand why a chuch gives it sovereignity to a state when it belongs to Jesus. The government then controls what a church can say or do and then the goverment allows the contributors to take a tax deduction. Does this honor our Lord? All churches should be out of a 50l©3 and give that sovereignity back to Christ If we are Christians running on a Constitutional platform why do we violate that Constitution? Do we whant government telling us what to do.
It is difficult to put forth the arguments for both of these points in a few brief sentences, but study the subjects and then decide.

RE: TO GET ELECTED111
Art, you are absolutely right. If Chuck can make the clear policy points that Ron Paul made in his campaign, he will rally the diverse and active support and become a legitimate candidate. I am willing to vote for a pastor and a social conservative who I don't agree 100% with if the civil liberties, foreign policy, and economic policy is strong like Paul's. So far, Baldwin has concurred with Paul on these issues, but he doesn't have a clear cut plan for them. I would like to see him make some issue statements and issue press releases for those statements. I would also like to see him bring in some advisers to help him form more specific policies.
I believe Dr. Baldwin will accomplish all of this if we give him the money to hire the staff he needs and do the extra traveling. Let's give him the support to make that possible! http:www.baldwin08.com
